Let's Play Pickleball!

Updated: Mar 8

Is it time for you to try America's fastest-growing sport?

The American-born sport of pickleball is fun, accessible, social, and great exercise. More and more courts are popping up all over the country to accommodate the increasing demand for more space to play.

Our own courts in Fairfield Harbour are becoming increasingly popular with new and experienced players. Open play sessions bring in all levels of play. You'll often find smaller groups throughout the week meeting up to play games at a specific level or to work on drills for general improvement.

Our own Dave Santiago will be teaching beginner's classes in March every Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Broad Creek Recreation Center. These classes are for Resorts Management. The cost will be $5 for non-members.  You must pre-register to play.

The following is an excerpt from an article about the growth of pickleball. Read the entire article here.

"Pickleball is now the fastest-growing sport in America for the third year running! The sport, a cross between ping pong, badminton, and tennis, was invented by three vacationers on Bainbridge Island, near Seattle, in 1965.

Pickleball is easy to learn, fun to play, and can be enjoyed well into one’s later years, making it a popular sport among seniors.

Add to that its popular "open play format", allowing players to mix and match with dozens of others in a session, you've got a social and accessible sport that's absolutely booming in popularity."
