October Garden Club

Welcome back to all the Garden Club returning members and welcome to all the new members. The 2024-2025 year will be full of opportunities to learn more about the garden club, meet other people interested in gardening and of course have a Good Time!!

The club’s first meeting of the year was September 9th. The speaker was Rachel Tipton of Harbourside Gardens in Stonewall. Rachel gave members a wonderful demonstration on how to arrange an outside planter with various late blooming plants, millet and other grasses. Everyone enjoyed her presentation and scrambled to be the first to buy the plants she had brought for exhibit.


Harvest Potluck and Tupperware Fundraiser:

The Fairfield Harbour Garden Club will hold its annual “Fall Harvest Potluck”, which will be held on the next general meeting on October 14th at Red Sail Park. The Potluck will also include a Tupperware Fundraiser to support the club. This is your opportunity to buy a special entertainment piece, or the perfect holiday gift. The more Tupperware purchased the greater the income for the Club.


This is a relaxed social event and an opportunity to meet with other club members and have fun!


Raffle Basket Fundraiser:

The Garden Club will once again sponsor the ever-popular raffle baskets. Four great baskets will be raffled off this year.The raffle tickets will be on sale at the Fairfield Harbour Craft Fair on October 26th  and at the Garden Club meetings. The raffle will be held at the November 11, 2024 General Meeting. The baskets this year are:

-Bird Mania

Scarecrow Contest-Enter your scarecrow now!!

This will be held as part of the Fairfield Harbour Craft Fair on October 26th in the FH Community Center Parking Lot. The Scarecrow Contest raises funds to support a local student continue their education. Annually, the club awards the scholarship. Door Prizes:

Lucille Durst raffled off two packages of 10 Yellow Daffodil bulbs for this month’s door prizes, The winners were: Sandy Riggs and Phyllis Godwin. Congratulations!


There was a “Seek and Find” contest to find a specific flower on the Website: Phyllis Godwin won the garden stake Sunflower. Congratulations Phyllis!


Our next General Meeting will be held on October 14th at Red Sail Park. Hope to see you all there!
