Who says there isn't anything to do? This past weekend FHYC, coordinated by Phil Katz, had its Shakedown Cruise down to Oriental. Two boats could not sail down, but the captains did a land cruise to enjoy the activities.
On Friday night, there was a Marine Trivia contest. On Saturday, Phil organized a Wine Tasting Contest. Each team was given small samples of wine, which we were supposed to identify. There were two white and two red wines, and we then wrote down what we thought each of them was. The team that had the most correct won the prize. Team Myler won. I guess we know what the wine connoisseurs are in FHYC!
Next came the Shrimparoo. Each of us got a bucket of shrimp with two sides. Russ and I were so busy eating we didn't get pictures of the Shrimparoo. Mother Nature had been calling for a chance of thunderstorms, but the weather turned out perfect. Oriental Inn and Marina did a great job with the food and service.
