Will your photo appear here as a candidate for the 2024 FHPOA Board?



Two (2) openings are available for the Fairfield Harbour Property Owners Association (FHPOA) Board of Directors for 2024.  They encompass a three-year term of office.  The following is the timeline and schedule of events over the next several months leading up to and culminating in the election of directors and the Wednesday, June 26 FHPOA Annual Meeting, FH Community Center.

 

Countdown to FHPOA Annual Meeting

March 1 – The Board of Directors Call for Nominations Announcement was included with the billing of the 2024 POA Dues statement mailed/emailed to all POA members.  The Nomination Announcement will outline what will be submitted by those seeking the office of Director.


May 1 – Deadline – Notices of Intent to Become a Candidate must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. close of business to the FHPOA Office, 902 Coral Reef Drive, New Bern, NC  2856 (Note:  to be a Nominee, one must be a member (property owner of recorded legal title) in good standing, meaning any charged fines, fees, and dues for 2024 must be paid in full by close of business May 1, 2024.  If not a property owner in good standing, the individual cannot be a Nominee for one of the open Board positions.)


May 1—The official Notice of the Annual Meeting will be emailed, including the agenda identifying all matters to be approved by the members, if any. 


May 6—Deadline: The withdrawal of an existing candidacy must be requested/withdrawn by 4:30 p.m., the close of business. 


May 6 – Deadline for the candidate to notify the Beacon and submit information and a photo if interested in having it published in the upcoming Special Edition of the Beacon.  This is the candidate’s responsibility. 


  • Bio and photos should be emailed to FHBeaconNews@gmail.com

  • Photos should be submitted in jpg format, and biographies in .docx, doc, or .rtf format, sent as an email attachment. 

  • Do Not embed the photo in the bio but send it as a separate file. 

  • Please put Candidate in the subject line. 

  • If you do not have email, deliver the information to the POA office.


May 8 – 6:00 p.m.  Meet the Candidates Night.  This is not mandatory and is provided as a service to the community and candidates. 


May 13 – FHPOA Board of Directors Election Notice is to be emailed to owners.

The email will include a link to the election ballot which will include the candidate bios as submitted to the Beacon.


June 3 – Deadline for online voting and receipt of mailed ballots.  Ballots must be received by the close of business at 4:30 p.m.


June 4 – 26 – Tabulation and recording of email votes and mail-in ballots for the 2024 FHPOA Election of Directors by the CPA firm of Carr, Riggs & Ingram, PA 

 

Wednesday, June 26, 7 p.m. – Annual Meeting held in the FH Community Center
