The New Bern Historical Society's 2023 Heritage Homes Tour will be held Friday, May 12th, and Saturday, May 13th, from 10 am to 4 pm.
As 2023 is the 100th anniversary of the New Bern Historical Society, this year's tour will be a special event. Many Docents are needed for each of the 11 houses on tour. We hope that you will join us as a volunteer.
The following describes the responsibilities of Docents:
A Docent provides historical and exciting information about the house to each small group moving through the house. A script will be provided.
Docent shifts are 3 hours (from 10 am to 1 pm and 1 pm to 4 pm).
Docents arrive 15 minutes early to learn their assigned location and script.
Docents may sign up for one or both days of the Homes Tour.
Every volunteer will receive a free ticket to the Heritage Homes Tour as our way of saying "Thank you."
Please let us know if you would like to volunteer as a Docent. Also, let us know your preferred shift day and time. At this time, we especially need volunteers for either shift on Saturday, May 13th.
