The rain held off and the band played on! The FH Christmas Parade lifts spirits!

Updated: Dec 6, 2023

A balmy Sunday ushered in the 27th annual Fairfield Harbour Christmas Parade. With the threat of rain all week, Harbourites were relieved and in the best of moods for the parade.

The Coast Guard Auxillary opens the parade with their regalia, followed by the West Craven Marching Eagles. The Grand Marshal this year is The Road Gang for their dedicated efforts to keep Broad Creek Road pristine.

The parade showcased Santa, Mrs. Claus, and their elf daughter! Nine reindeer lead the way for Santa to arrive at Red Sail Park, where he gave presents to all the boys and girls. The FHPOA grilled hotdogs and served hotdog chili, chips, and cookies.

Thank you to our parade sponsors this year - they supplied money for the food. Neuse Realty, Susanne Pendleton from Coldwell Banker, Storm Guard, and HRH Roofing. Thank you to all who donated money to the Marching Eagles.

The 2023 Parade Committee took extra time to plan the logistics this year, and it really made a difference. It takes a village to run a parade, and Fairfield Harbour knows how to pitch in and help!

Thank you, Parade Committee, for making this year's parade run as smoothly as it did.

Chair: Gayle Albertini, Co-chair: Phyllis Godwin. Security chair: Benny Tompson and Bob Heal.

Deb Lutz and the Special Events Committee - Anne Gehlsen, Becki Meminger, Marty Rosen, Rose MacNeal, Bridget Seyerle, Doris Dean and husbands.

The Red Sail Elves: Leigh Pfefferkorn, Ellen MacElree, Elaine Steinbeck, David, and Nancy Wills.

Thanks to Deb Rothegast for the photos capturing the parade's joyous spirit. Jennifer Gudatis, Phil Hewett, Bob and Elise Broody, David Pfefferkorn, Gus Flemming, Will Caudle, and his awesome group. Your contributions were priceless!
