The MGA monthly conversation for the Beacon June 1st edition is with new HPGC Head Golf Professional Jimmy Adams. Please welcome Jimmy to Harbour Pointe Golf Club. Jimmy is a people-first leader and brings new energy to the Golf Operations Department at the club. Jimmy's duties will include Membership sales, Member Tournaments, Outing Tournaments, and general improvement of the overall Golf experience for Members, Residents, and Greens fee players.
Beacon: Jimmy, welcome to HPGC. We are excited to have you at the club.
Jimmy: Thank you, I am excited to be here, I have already met some Members, and I look forward to meeting all of them and developing great relationships with them.
Beacon: That's fantastic; developing relationships is crucial in any customer service business. Please tell us about yourself.
Jimmy: I spent my youth in Greensboro, NC, and most of my adult life in Greenville, NC. I have a passion for the game of golf and enjoy helping others. I've been around golf since I was six years old and played college Golf at UNC Charlotte.
Beacon: Please give us your thoughts on growing the game at HPGC.
Jimmy: Several different areas that we can grow the game. We need to increase Membership and outside play also. Having a Junior program is essential; I think Lady's Golf is the fastest-growing segment of the game. There is an untapped business for us in New Bern and the surrounding areas for both Memberships and outside play.
Beacon: All great ideas. You have been involved in coaching and teaching High School Golf and Junior programs in the past.
Jimmy: I coached the Boys and Girls Golf teams at D.H. Conley High School in Greenville. We consistently finished in the top 3 in our conference with the Boy's and Girls' teams. It was a very gratifying and fun experience.
Beacon: Awesome! Thank you for spending time with us today. We look forward to having you and your experience as a leader here at Harbour Pointe Golf Club.
Jimmy: Thanks. I'm happy to be here and appreciate the opportunity that Troon and Brian have given me. The golf course is an excellent test, challenging, and fun to play for all level players. It's a Golf course that people will play again after their 1st visit.
