LGA May Update

Harbour Pointe Ladies Golf Association @ Fairfield Harbour

In addition to the weekly scoring for league play, we continue to track our statistics in competition for the MAGNOLIA CUP, whch is awarded at the end of the year.  Stats are posted weekly on a spreadsheet in the back porch bulletin board.  Please refer to that for a complete view of the standings.  We will include a summary each game’s highlights.

Thursday, April 3

Today’s game called for an unusual scoring method.  In the game of BETTER 9 PLUS PUTTS, we kept  track of putts on each hole.  At the end of 18 holes, players chose their best gross score (front or back nine), then added their putts from the other nine.  Two places were paid in each flight.  In the first flight, Sue Layton and Jackie Hice tied with 51.  Dawn Ritter took first place in the second flight with 49, and Cheryl Furman was second with 50.  In the third flight, Barbara Walsh and Penny Sullivan tied with 51.

MAGNOLIA CUP HIGHLIGHTS:  Third Place earns points in the Magnolia Cup stats.  Today Stephanie Eldreth was third in the first flight, Susan Mathes, in the second flight, and third flight had Ruthann Hendel and Ann Kopec  tied for second.  Robin MacRae and Kathy Fuller tied for third.

Thursday, April 10

ACE OF THE MONTH – Three Flights competed today for lowest net score.  In Flight 1, Donna Hulbert took first with 72, and Sharon Henke was second with 75.  Second Flight winners were Nancy Robiinson with 63, and Dawn Ritter with 69.  First in Third Flight had Nancy Zetelski with 70, Second place tie with Barb Walsh and Ruthann Hendel with 72.  Nancy Robinson is our April Ace ! 

MAGNOLIA CUP HIGHLIGHTS:  Third Place winners were:  First Flight, Sue Layton and Jackie Hice tied with 76.  Second Flight, Pam Nolan with 72, and Third Flight, Penny Sullivan, 73.
