The Golf conversation for the October Beacon issue is with HPGC Head Golf Pro Jimmy Adams. Jimmy would like to tell us about his team and how valuable they are to the success of Golf operations.
Beacon: Please tell us about your group of teammates and how they help you do your job.
Jimmy: First of all, many of the Golf operations employees have been at the club for a while. They have welcomed me and been very loyal, not only to me, also loyal to each other. They get along great are always willing to help with a schedule change or any way they can. This makes my job much easier.
Beacon: You have a great mix of some that have been at HPGC for a while and some recent additions too. Please talk about people like, Kris Engelhaupt, Gary Hanes, Wayne Schwartz, Jim Dobson and Keith Swan who are all Golf Shop Attendants and also Mike Hanes, who is a volunteer Golf Cart Attendant.
Jimmy: We are so fortunate to have these people on the Golf operations team. Kris has been at the club for 11 years, she has great knowledge of the game and is a very good player. Kris is competing in the Veterans Golf Association national tournament this week. Great customer service skills and always keeping busy, merchandising and keeps the shop looking great.
Gary is very personable, great with the Members and public players and works mostly closing shifts, which makes scheduling easier for me. It's easy to tell that Gary likes his job. Gary has been at the club for 4 years.
Wayne is another great team member. He works mostly morning shifts and always has the Carts out everything ready to go by the the time first Golfer arrives. He is always willing to go the extra mile for a Member or a Guest. He has been at HPGC for 2 years.
Jim is great guy, always smiling and great people skills and been on the team for 4 years. Jim very well liked by everyone at the Club. Another guy who makes everyone's experience better.
Keith is a Jack of all trades, who has been at the club for 4 years. He wears a lot of hats for us. He works in the shop, will pick the range, Golf course ranger, does club repair. Keith a valuable person to have on the staff who can do and fix anything in a moments notice.
Mike Hanes has been a volunteer at Harbour Pointe for four years. He is a pleasure to have at the Club, helping us out with Carts. Mike is the first person Golfers see when they finish their round. He gives them a warm greeting at the end of the round.
Beacon: You have some new team members who have started recently at Harbour Pointe. Please tell us about the new additions.
Jimmy: We have added 3 new people. CJ Swindle is very a likeable lady who is working as a Golf Shop Attendant and also helping Gary Blanchard with the F&B operation as a Bartender/Server at the Pointe. It is great to have someone that has the skills to work in 2 departments.
Levi Benischek and Aiden Hansen are both very nice youngsters who will be Cart Attendants and also doing some ranger work on the course. They will be great additions.
Beacon: Jimmy, thank you for spending time with us today. You are doing a great job leading this talented group at Harbour Pointe Golf Club.
