On August 2, 2022, a steamy North Carolina evening, 131 of our Fairfield Harbour residents came out to enjoy fun and games during our Neighborhood Watch Committee’s National Night Out.
National Night Out is a “Community-Police Partnership Program designed to engage neighborhoods in local crime and drug-abuse prevention activities.” Held on the grounds of the Harbour Pointe Golf Club, the event featured water balloon fights for kids, free hot dogs compliments of our Craven County Sheriff’s Department, condiments and lemonade courtesy of Harbour Pointe Grille, kielbasa, watermelon, and ice water courtesy of FHNW. Also in attendance was a large contingency of Craven County Sheriff deputies and officers, our Sheriff Chip Hughes, and the department’s latest K-9 officer in training Xander and his handler Deputy McCaw. Door prizes were awarded through the evening, and a few brave souls even ignored the heat and did a little line dancing to the music provided by Fairfield Harbour’s own Tom 'n Dahlin’.
“The Neighborhood Watch Committee would like to pay a HUGE debt of gratitude and special thanks to Cathleen and the staff from the Harbour Pointe Grill for their excellent service, running back and forth repeatedly from the kitchen with trays of hot dogs and pitchers of lemonade.”
