On Sunday, February 5th, I went out in my kayak inside the Harbour and, in 30 minutes, hit my limit on trout. 19, 20, 21, and 22 inches. They were attacking a soft white speckled paddle tail artificial lure.
I couldn’t keep them off my lines that day…. Better to be lucky than good.
There is something about fishing on Sundays in the Harbor.
On February 12, I used an artificial clear paddle tail 1/4 oz. lure to grab the attention of a 17, 18, and 21-inch trout.
On Monday, February 20, I caught & released 27. Wednesday, February 25, I landed my first 2-foot Speckled trout inside the Harbour. My total for this past week (Sunday, February 19 - Saturday, February 25) is 72.
On Sunday, February 26, I hooked eight trout in the Harbour. I caught & released seven and kept one trophy-size to feed the community. This speckled trout was 23 1/2 inches long and was caught on a white speckled paddle tail 1/4 oz artificial lure.
In February, of the 98 trout I caught in the Harbour, 80 were of a legal size that was "catch and release." The Harbour is the best place to catch trout right now! The fishing has been absolutely amazing in my kayak this month of February. Get out there and cast your line!
